Here we are bringing you the descriptions of five best beaches on the island. When passing judgement, several criteria were considered: arrangement, capacity, location, attendance, approachability and sea quality. This research hasn’t been done by experts method but  by tourists’ and local people’s opinion. All beaches on the island are beautiful. There are kilometres of beaches across the Northwestern side of the island and each one of them could be the best when some minor interventions would be made. Southern part of the island is made of rocks and gravel except in coves Soline and Kobiljak.

01. Jackie K. Onassis, Mrljane

It is the biggest beach and more than 500 meters long. It’s placed in the Taline cove. An asphalted road connects the beach with the main island road. There are still no showers on the beach. Thanks to the cultivation, the entire beach has natural shade. Nearby the beach, there are a restaurant and a pastry shop. The beach has a big sand-volleyball playground. For its well-made entries to the sea, the beach is suitable for small children and disabled people. Constant sea circulation in the cove and a pleasant summer wind – maestral keep the sea clean in natural way. Entire sea ground is inhabited by several species of shelves. As some of them are listed as endangered species, it is strictly forbidden taking them out from the sea-ground. Violators of this law have to pay substantial fine, up to 50.000,00 KN. Here, as well as on other public beaches, pets are not allowed to be brought. However, if you have a pet that adores swimming, we recommend either early morning or late evening visits for swimming. By the way, the island is full of all sorts of coves and straits distant from people and there you can enjoy swimming and sunbathing with your pet

02. Sovinje, Tkon

The beach had arisen on natural phenomenon – sand cliffs, which you can see on only few places in Adriatic and the phenomenon is most spread on island Susak. Constant sedimentation of sand from cliffs into sea makes this place wonderful. This beach would certainly be number one beach, but there are reasons why it’s number two: it’s exclusively nudist  and it’s forbidden to enter the beach wearing clothes. As the beach is a part of a nudist camp, all facilities a beach area should have are included within the camp. Sanitary centre, catering establishments, great shade made by pine forest; all these factors will make your visit to this beach exquisite.

Every beach area in the Northwestern part of the island is sandy and shallow with high sea temperature, during summer up to 26°C. Tratica is similar to other beaches, except for the sea temperature, which is a few Celsius degrees higher. Thanks to that fact, Tratica has always been the first choice of families with small children and babies, as well as older generation. There is a café bar with ice-cream on offer on the beach area and sand-volleyball playground. A few pine trees make an excellent shade.

Tarokic beach is one of the best beaches in the island and it is very good equipped for children.
A slide, beach volleyball, pine tree forest, restaurant and a patisserie will make your sojourn on Tarokic beach very pleasant.

The beach in Dobropoljana is, as others, sandy, suitable for children and disabled persons. In the very vicinity, you will find a restaurant and a bar. You can easiliy get to the beach by car or by boat as it has well protected port..
